Counselor:
General counselors are responsible for living with and supervising five campers throughout their stay at camp. Counselors will also serve as activity area instructors. All counselors teach activities, but you tell us which ones you’d like to teach -- there are over 85 choices, plus your creative additions. We can teach you most activity areas, if you bring the fervent desire. Counselors are the core of camp. FILLED
HEROES:
It stands for Honorably Employed Rotating Operational Efficiency Staff. Although all HEROES do a little of everything, each has a somewhat specific area of responsibility as well. FILLED
- Equestrian -- extensive knowledge of horse program. Certification desired. (Filled)
- Climbing -- lead climbs out trips, supervises all on-site climbing activities. (Filled)
- Tripping -- leads weekly backpacking trip. (Filled)
- Art -- manages all elements of extensive arts program. (Filled)
- General -- teach 4 clinics and Playstation, plus other HEROEY things (Filled)
Equestrian Director.
Fully in charge of all elements of the program. Responsible for teaching campers horse care, English and Western riding styles, and organizing trail rides and overnights. Male and Female Village Leader:
Supervises all male or female general counselors. Responsible for camper and counselor welfare in every sense of the word. FILLED
Program Director:
Camp Augusta offers over 65 different activities, and several evening programs. During two-week sessions, the program director is responsible for weekend programming as well. This critical person schedules 100% of the staff to meet the program needs. Must possess extraordinary logistical skills, keen people skills, creativity, a wealth of excellent program ideas, and extensive camp experience. FILLED
Master of Fun and Games
Let the games begin! This person is responsible for all Playstation activities, as well as scheduling and training staff for them. The other main responsibility is evening and weekend programs. Special programs director. At times, the MF&G will aid camp clinic activities, as well as perform some HERO functions. FILLED
Nurse:
Work and play with campers in this residential position. Basic health care is provided to this small community. Serious conditions are referred to local physicians and/or the local hospital. There is ample time to play with the campers, and enjoy camp activities. FILLED
